Leesburg, VA (June 9, 2016) – On Thursday, May 26, Alexa Kling, along with her parents, Raiders Girls Tennis Coach Tammy Bullock, and future college coach Jini Morgan, signed her National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Taylor University in Indiana beginning the 2016/2017 academic school year.
At Taylor, Alexa will be playing for Coach Morgan, who took over the TU program after leading the Yorktown High School boys and girls tennis programs from 2009-2013 and serving as a tennis instructor and adult program director at the Muncie YMCA.
A graduate of the University of Evansville, Morgan was named the Hoosier Heritage Girls’ Tennis Coach of the Year in 2010. After taking over a Yorktown boys’ program that failed to win a match in 2008, Morgan led the Tigers to a second place finish in the Hoosier Heritage Conference and was named the Boys Tennis’ Coach of the Year in 2013.
In Alexa, the TU tennis program is getting a player from Loudoun County High School that has proven herself for four years as a varsity starter and leader of the Raider program. Alexa was the Conference Champion as both a freshman and senior, and Conference Runner-up as a sophomore and junior. In 2015 she was The Region 4A North Champion, and in 2016 was the Conference 21 East Champion, and Region 4A West Runner-up. She is heading to the Final Four of the Virginia State 4A Singles Tournament for the second year in a row, and has been named to the All-Loudoun Tennis Team four consecutive years.
Please join us in congratulating Alexa and wishing her the very best in her pursuit of excellence.
