Sterling, VA (October 7th, 2016) – The Stone Bridge Bulldogs vs. Potomac Falls Panthers volleyball match took place on Tuesday, October 4th. Aaron Wyche was on hand to cover the action and posted this PHOTO GALLERY with 158 images.
Although the Bulldogs won the match 3-0, the most notable event of the evening was when Potomac Falls senior Kylie Thomas broke the school record for career volleyball kills. She entered the match with 973 career kills, 5 short of the school record. After rattling off five in the first set to tie the mark, the Panthers took a time-out to honor the feat after Kylie eclipsed the record.
Post game, Panther first year head coach Nick Puszert described Kylie as a hard worker and one of the smartest volleyball players he has ever coached. He pointed out her goal of collecting 22 more kills to end her high school career with 1,000+, a milestone for for any volleyball player. In addition to her on-court contributions, Puszert also praised her leadership as the only senior on a team with eight sophomores.
Kylie Thomas will continue her volleyball career next season as a Virginia Tech Hokie.
