Sterling, VA (November 10, 2016) – After a successful 2015 volleyball campaign that ended in a 5-set thrilling loss to a crosstown divisional rival in the VHSL state finals, the 2016 Potomac Falls Panthers returned to post-season 5A North Regional action by hosting the North Stafford Wolverines in the first round on Tuesday, November 8th.
After back and forth set victories, the Panthers found themselves down 6-11 in the 5th and final set, battled back to 12-14, and eventually claimed an exciting and hard fought victory.

Led by a head coach in his rookie season at the helm in Nick Puszert, and a sole senior and future Virginia Tech Hokie, Kylie Thomas, the Panthers traveled to Roanoke to take on the Patrick Henry Patriots in the regional quarterfinals. Three sets after their 4-hour road trip, the Panthers’ 2016 season came to end.
The Lady Panthers exceeded many expectations on the season, finishing the year with a 10-13 record, a Conference 14 Championship runner-up title, a regional post season victory, and a community that’s proud of all that they had accomplished.
